About Master Shin
Master Charles Young Shin has been teaching Tae Kwon Do, Self Defense and Martial Arts since 1983 and currently holds the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt. Trained by his father and 9th Degree Black Belt, Grand Master Hyun Jik Shin, Master Shin is a former national competitor who has earned countless awards and recognition in the Sport of Tae Kwon Do and Martial Arts Instruction. Master Shin's dynamic teaching style and martial arts expertise has led to countless people in the TV and Film Industry to train under his skilled guidance.
In addition to training students for TV and Film, Master Shin’s main focus is building self-esteem and helping to improve health and fitness in today's youth using Tae Kwon Do, Self Defense and Martial Arts as his vehicle. Master Shin firmly believes, “People who feel good about themselves make the right choices.” Combined with his expert knowledge of martial arts and over 25 years of experience working with children and adults of all ages, Master Shin has created a system in which individual students develop confidence by accomplishing realistic and attainable goals. Master Shin’s unique teaching style, which emphasizes positive reinforcement, has been so successful that Tae Kwon Do, Self Defense and Martial Arts instructors from across the country are emulating his technique.
