Training Methods

At Shin's Family Martial Arts Self Defense Tae Kwon Do Center we use proven state of the art training methods for both our Martial Arts Self Defense and Gymnastic Tumbling and Trampoline programs.

Performance Training

Performance Training is a combination of Plyometrics, Core Conditioning and Biomechanics. Plyometrics incorporates exercises or drills aimed at linking strength with speed of movement. The power that is produced enables the muscle to reach maximum strength in the shortest time possible. Core training involves the integration and coordination of movement and stability in the entire body. Biomechanics is the science that examines the internal and external forces acting on biological systems and the effects produced by these forces.

Shin's Family Martial Arts Self Defense Tae Kwon Do Center recognizes the importance of performance training in building a solid foundation for our students in order for them to be successful in their martial arts, self defense and gymnastics (trampoline & tumbling) training.  As a result, performance training is integrated into all of the unique programs offered at Shin's.  These dynamic techniques give Shin’s students “state-of-the-art” functional training. This system not only improves martial arts, self defense and gymnastics skills but overall athleticism. Students who participate in other sports benefit from this type of training.

David Eastham our chief instructor in our Performance Training Program has a degree in Kinesiology from California State University Northridge and is active in sports training camps and personal training.  A former All American Football player, he knows what it takes to build champions.

Core Conditioning, Functional Training and Plyometrics are the key elements of our Performance Training Program.  The following are some of the state of the art training equipment offered at Shin’s.
