“INTRO
Think: Many people are victims of bullies who beat them up. Do you want to be one of them? To prevent you from getting bullied, there is a thing called Tae Kwon Do. Discover this martial art, as we journey through kicks and punches to learn three good reasons for studying Tae Kwon Do: Self-Defense, Stature, and Discipline.
REASON 1: Self-Defense
To begin with, you should learn Tae Kwon Do because if somebody attacks you, you can defend yourself. Many kids are bullied each year, and some are even kidnapped, but you can prevent yourself from being one of them by learning this martial art. For example, most people who can hurt you, can easily be stopped by a kick between the legs. Besides, if your muscles are strong enough and you’re in top shape, you could defend yourself and even if the person manages to punch you, you might not get hurt so bad. Tae Kwon Do can defend and protect you
REASON 2: Stature
Secondly, you should learn Tae Kwon Do because when you get fit, you’ll look quite impressive delivering punches and kicks. Have you seen those marital art movies? When you become a black-belt, you could perform moves like those. Who knows? Once you get really good at Tae Kwon Do, you could get signed up to be in a movie, and, maybe you might be a star! In any case, Tae Kwon Do can make you look impressive
Why You Should Take Tae Kwon Do
REASON 3: Discipline
Finally, you must take Tae Kwon Do to learn discipline. Yes, I said discipline. Tae Kwon Do isn’t just about the moves. It doesn’t matter how strong your kicks are, or how fast your punches are, if you are undisciplined, you won’t get your next belt. To have discipline, do your best, be respectful, say “Yes sir” to anything your Master says in class, bow to the flags when you come in/out of the Dojang, and remain quiet at all times, except when you are kicking. When you kick, yell “kiap!” Just doing those simple things will make you better liked by the instructors and admired by others. Discipline means that you train the body and mind to react automatically, and not to use force unless necessary. Tae Kwon Do is discipline
COUNTER-ARGUMENT
Many people say that if someone fights you, you should tell an adult. But what if the bullying doesn’t stop after you tell? What if someone starts punching and beating you? Are you just going to let he/she finish you off, and then later tell on them? Or, are you going to show your opponent what you think of the bullying? Tae Kwon Do is about self-defense
CLOSING
So, as you have learned, Tae Kwon Do isn’t just kicks. It’s discipline, respect, stature and self-defense. I believe that Tae Kwon Do promotes health, learning, protection and fun. Remember, Tae Kwon Do is: Defense and Offense, Stature, Discipline and Respect. So, why don’t you sign up for some Tae Kwon Do lessons today?

Santa Clarita’s Best Taekwondo Martial Arts School
“Dear Master Shin –
We wanted to take a moment to thank you and your wonderful staff for
this past year at Shin’s Family Taekwondo Martial Arts Fitness Center. Your exceptional instructors have kept our 4 year-old son’s interest in gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling and martial arts from wavering with their creative and kind demeanor. Our 9 year-old daughter was nervous about starting gymnastics due to a bad experience at a previous gym but your kind and wonderful staff immediately put her mind at ease and has since loved coming to Shin’s. As parents, we can’t tell you how much we appreciate knowing that our children will be taught, respected, and cared for by your professional staff as if they were working with their own child.
Thank you –
The Battistini Family”

Mom's happy heart
“My daughter who is 13 and has Autism (high functioning) has been going to the after school care and participating in 4 classes per week. I had the pleasure of watching her earn her yellow belt and was so impressed with the staff and their high energy to keep the kids focused and excited. My daughter loves to come to Shins and would go every day of the week if she could. I am thankful that when school is out, they still offer camp so that she isn't disappointed that she can't go. I can't say enough about this facility and the fact that my daughter is included in everything and is treated the same as everyone else makes this mother's heart very happy!!!”

Best after school program in Santa Clarita
“My son Jacob has been going to the Shin’s after school program for a couple of years now. We LOVE Shins. They pick him up from school, he gets the majority of his homework done while he is there and gets to take class. My son was in other day care situations where they basically sat in a room or visited a playground. At Shins there is no sitting around, no being bored watching the clock for mom.
The instructors are amazing. They truly care about our children. My son is completely comfortable at Shins… it is like his home away from home. He has progressed from Tae Kwon Do to the Master’s Club and the Pre-Team which has been absolutely amazing for his self esteem. It truly does take a village to raise a child and I am glad that Shins is part of my village.
PS As a side note, I have even started taking class at Shins!”

Santa Clarita Kids and Moms Love It at Shin’s – The Most Recommended Martial Arts School In Santa Clarita
“I am a proud parent of three wonderful boys who have had the privilege of being a part of Shin’s Family for many years. Shin’s Family Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts Fitness Center was the perfect stepping stone for all of my boys prior to beginning elementary school. They developed important skills such as self control, following directions and taking turns. As my boys have grown, the benefits of being students of an exceptional martial arts program have become even more apparent. All of the positive life skills and virtues encouraged at Shin’s Martial Arts have assisted in making each of my boys educational journeys that much easier. Shin’s classes are highly physical and really work on overall health. Due to the techniques learned in class, my boys are quite agile and have great body awareness. These skills have helped them in other “team” sports. They have learned self defense skills which have proven to be invaluable toward their safety and confidence. I have also participated in and benefited from the women’s self defense classes offered at Shin’s Martial Arts. All of Shin’s instructors are kind, highly energetic, and use positive motivation to encourage all students to work to the best of his or her ability. I would highly recommend Shin’s Family Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts program to any parent trying to raise a healthy, confident, respectful & self motivated child.
